10th Anniversary Carnival!

May, 2023 – marks 10 years since the launch of the Camden County Police Department which officially took over law enforcement in the City of Camden on May 1, 2013.

To celebrate the department’s birthday, we threw a party and invited all Camden residents to come celebrate with us on Sunday, May 14, at Coopers Poynt Waterfront Park. The carnival included free rides and games, food, music, face-painting and more. We even had flowers to give to every mother attending the event since our birthday party happened to be on Mother’s Day.

The weather was gorgeous and the carnival was ultimately a great success drawing an approximate crowd of more than 5,000 kids and adults.

“For us, marking the milestone of 10 years as the city’s police department with a carnival made perfect sense,” said Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. “Bringing kids, parents and seniors together to have fun and spend time with our officers relaxing and enjoying a spring afternoon is in keeping with our Unity Policing model that is central to how we operate and how we help make Camden a safer place for residents.”

We’re thankful to everyone who came out to join us for this party and hoping to be able to do it again and again in the years and decades to come!
