Deputy Chief Richard Verticelli

Deputy Chief Richard Verticelli has been in law enforcement in Camden for more than 20 years. He spent one year at the Camden County Correctional Facility before joining the former Camden City Police Department. He was part of the former Camden City Police Department SWAT team for 10 years and was also a member of the Tactical Force. He served as commander of both units and was promoted to Lieutenant in 2008.
He joined the Camden County Police Department at its inception in 2013 and has served as a commander in the Operations Bureau and Investigations Bureau. He was promoted to Deputy Chief in 2018 and currently commands the department’s Operations Bureau which includes all uniformed officers assigned to the Neighborhood Response Team.
During the course of his law enforcement career, Deputy Chief Verticelli has earned numerous awards and training certifications and served at the Camden County Police Academy for eight years as lead instructor of the street survival course.
Captain Jason Pike

Captain Jason Pike has been in law enforcement for more than 22 years and has earned a B.A. in criminal justice from Thomas Edison State College.
He spent one and a half years with the New Jersey Department of Corrections as an officer assigned to the Riverfront State Prison in Camden. In 1998 he left corrections to join the Camden City Police Department where he served in several units, including Patrol, Community Policing, Special Operations, Tactical Force, Criminal Investigations, Violent Crime Task Force, Tactical Narcotics Team and the Real-Time Tactical Operational Intelligence Center (RTTOIC).
During the course of his career, Captain Pike has earned numerous citations for bravery and meritorious service. In 2009 he was named Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by the Camden District Council Collaborative Board for his commitment to community outreach. He is an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
In April 2013 he was hired by the Camden County Police Department as a Sergeant and was promoted to Lieutenant on June 1, 2015. He was assigned as the Neighborhood Response Team commander in the city’s 4th District and later assigned as an RTTOIC commander. He was promoted to Captain in 2019 and is assigned to the department’s Operations Division.
Captain Brandon Kersey

Captain Brandon Kersey began his public safety career in 2008 at the Camden County Communications Center where he served as a public safety telecommunicator for two years before joining the former Camden City Police Department in 2010. With the city department, he served as an officer in the Patrol Division and on the Tactical Force and later became a narcotics detective in 2012.
In 2013, Captain Kersey joined the Camden County Police Department where he served as a field training officer and a Sergeant with the Neighborhood Response Team. In 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and served as a watch commander in the Real-Time Tactical Operational Intelligence Center (RTTOIC) and then in the Strategic Deployment unit.
He currently serves as commander of the Neighborhood Response Team-Central unit.
Lieutenant Daniel Pope

Lieutenant Daniel Pope has served as a law enforcement officer in Camden since 2003, when he began his career with the former Camden City Police Department. He served in the patrol and community policing units as well as the detective bureau where he was part of the Violent Crimes Task Force.
He joined the Camden County Police Department at its launch in 2013 and has served as a Sergeant in Patrol and the Neighborhood Response Team. He was promoted to Lieutenant in March 2018 and is assigned to Strategic Deployment as a watch commander in the Real-Time Tactical Operational Intelligence Center (RTTOIC).
Lieutenant Pope has received numerous awards and citations over the years and has served as an instructor at the Camden County College Police Academy.
Lieutenant Terrell Watkins

Lieutenant Terrell Watkins has served in law enforcement in the City of Camden for more than 20 years, having started his career with the former Camden City Police Department in 1998. He served in the Patrol and Community Policing units before becoming a detective in 2002, serving with the Violent Crimes Task Force and on the Strategic Multi-Agency Shooting and Homicide (SMASH) Team.
He joined the Camden County Police Department at its inception in February 2013, conducting background investigations for newly hired police officers before being promoted to Sergeant in April 2013. As a Sergeant, his assignments included the Community Safety Team, the Patrol Division, the Real-Time Tactical Operational Intelligence Center (RTTOIC) and the Neighborhood Response Team (NRT). In March 2018, he was promoted to Lieutenant where he was assigned as the NRT Northern Division Community Liaison Commander. In July 2018, he was assigned to his current position as a Watch Commander in the RTTOIC.
An East Camden native, Lieutenant Watkins has been a certified Emergency Medical Technician for almost 30 years and has served as an instructor at the Camden County College Police Academy, receiving numerous commendations and awards throughout his career.
Lieutenant Christopher Sarlo

Lieutenant Christopher Sarlo began his law enforcement career in 2008 working for the North Wildwood Police Department as a Special Law Enforcement Officer II. He later worked for the Collingswood Police Department and then the Haddon Township Police Department from 2009 to 2013.
Lieutenant Sarlo joined the Camden County Police Department as an officer in 2013 and was assigned to the Community Safety Division and later the Community Safety Team. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2016 as a supervisor in the Patrol Division and later in the Neighborhood Response Team. He is a certified firearms instructor, physical training instructor and is certified by the FBI as a crisis negotiator in addition to holding numerous other professional certificates.
Lieutenant Sarlo currently serves as a commander in the Department’s Real-Time Tactical Operations and Intelligence Center.
Lieutenant William Martin

Lieutenant William Martin was born and raised in the City of Camden and follows in a long history of public service in his family.
He began his law enforcement career in 1998 with the former Camden City Police Department and joined the Camden County Police Department at its launch in 2013. He has served as a patrol officer and patrol supervisor prior to his promotion to Lieutenant in 2018. He is currently assigned as a commander of uniformed personnel in the Neighborhood Response Team.
Over the course of his law enforcement career, Lieutenant Martin has earned numerous training certificates and awards.
Lieutenant Thomas Collins

Lieutenant Thomas Collins began his career in law enforcement in 2003 and joined the Camden County Police Department in 2013. He holds Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees.
Lieutenant Collins has served in the Neighborhood Response Team and Detective Bureau during his time with the Camden County Police Department and is currently assigned as Executive Officer of Uniformed Operations for Deputy Chief Verticelli.
Lieutenant Collins has earned numerous certifications during the course of his law enforcement career, including hostage and crisis negotiations from the FBI. He also serves as an instructor at the Camden County College Police Academy and in-service instructor at the Camden County Police Department.
