Officers of the Week – Yakub, Burdalski and Heisler

Posted on by CCPD

This week, Camden County Police Department proudly recognizes the outstanding work of Officers Bulent Yakub, Michael Burdalski and Shane Heisler.

Officer Yakub joined the Camden County Police Department in 2015 while Officers Burdalski and Heisler joined in 2016. All three are assigned to the Neighborhood Response Team in the southern half of the city covering the 2nd and 4th Districts.

On May 28, 2018, Officer Yakub observed a traffic infraction and conducted a motor vehicle stop near the corner of Haddon Avenue and Sycamore Street. Officers Burdalski and Heisler arrived at the scene to assist Officer Yakub, and when they discovered that the driver of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, they attempted to place him in custody. The suspect then ran from the scene and the officers chased him on foot. He was caught after a short pursuit and found to be in possession of a loaded Beretta handgun and 57 jars of crack cocaine.

“Officers Yakub, Heisler and Burdalski combined solid investigative skill a tactical approach and selfless service to help remove a dangerous suspect from the community,” said Lieutenant Terrell Watkins.

For their actions, we honor Officers Yakub, Heisler and Burdalksi as Camden County Police Department Officers of the Week.
