The Camden County Police Department proudly recognizes two individuals for their outstanding police work to make the community safer – Officers Anthony Berg and Leeza Gonzalez.

Both officers serve in the department’s Patrol Division in the city’s 3rd District.

On Sunday, Jan. 28, just after 2 a.m., Officers Berg and Gonzalez were on patrol in the area of 200 Marlton Pike when they were approached by two male victims who had just been robbed. The officers quickly got a description of the suspects and were soon able to locate the suspects walking away from the scene of the crime. Officers Berg and Gonzalez approached the suspects on foot and observed one of them attempting to discard a gun. Both suspects were placed under arrest without incident and officers recovered the weapon – a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun.

“The quick actions taken by these officers led to the apprehension of two robbery suspects and the recovery of the illegal weapon they used to commit the crime,” said Captain Gabriel Camacho.

For quickly apprehending two robbery suspects, Officers Berg and Gonzalez are deserving of recognition as Camden County Police Department Officers of the Week.
